The Weimar Republic was Germany's formal government between World War I and II, during which a time of self-expression, ideation and experimentation in the arts and sciences (i.e. a cultural free-for-all and renaissance of sorts). "The Weimar Republic: Germany 1918-1933" is an annual music festival held at Walt Disney Concert Hall with concerts conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, and cultural events such as art exhibits, a film marathon, cabaret and a workers' chorus at neighboring venues.
